Day of Departure

I am just now able to sit down and make myself look at pictures from the day Justin left. I tried especially to document the time shared between him & Isaac, as Isaac will be much different when Justin returns. See the captions below each picture for explanations.
Daddy & Isaac using Isaac's first Christmas present, pictured below.
Justin bought Isaac his first Christmas gift once we had discussed it, a chalkboard designed to count down the days of Daddy's deployment. We do realize he has no idea what a number is (and probably can't even see the funny white squiggles very well), but it is a great tool for discussing "Daddy," in hopes Daddy will be familiar when he comes home. **Note: The count of days is only approximate.

The boys are enjoying some cuddle time while watching television.

Justin just finished loading the car with everything necessary for deployment that had not already been shipped.

Justin is giving Isaac his last bottle of the night, also being the last bottle before he left. This was a very sweet moment. Before taking the bottle, Isaac babbled everything to Justin that was on his little heart. At least that's what it sounded like.

Continue to keep Justin, his soldiers, and fellow chaplains in your prayers. As horribly as we miss him, I do realize that he is following God's will. What an awesome God we have!

Oh, how precious are these pictures and how precious you are. I am so proud of Justin and you. You have recognized that God is in this endeavor and have been so strong and supportive to Justin. I love you my dear and will continue to lift both of you up daily. Kiss the little man for me until I get to do it myself.

May God watch over you and yours while Justin is deployed. He will always be safe because of the love you have for him and his faith in the Lord.

Emily -

It's GREAT that you are trying to document everything. Will Justin be able to every do a web cam chat? I know Patrick was able to take a laptop with him so he could try to do some chats when he had a chance with his little boy. I love the countdown board - that is a neat idea!! :) Just remember to take pictures and use the video recorder. :)

Precious times. Thanks for sharing with us. We are praying for you ALL. You need to know that the talk last week in Sunday School was all about getting you back to Hebron. We can help babysit, etc.

I know that you may feel some additional closeness to Justin by being near the base.........but, we want you to come HOME!

Kisses to Issac! Hugs to you and Justin, Love, Samie
