Today was Rivers' birthday. (He's the one that appears to be growling at the camera). The cake has strawberry shortcake on it. I'm still not entirely sure why. One of the guys in the platoon brought it to him after lunch.
I've been really vague in updates for the last couple of weeks. Its mostly laziness. Here's kind of what is going on. We're getting briefs on such exciting topics as how to write a memorandum for the army, how to present a brief, the army Field Manuel 3-0, and countless other topics that are equally numbing to the mind. The highlight of my day is normally 0530 PT (Physical Training) if that tells you how exciting it is.
Yesterday, the division chaplain for 1st Cavalry took those of us assigned to that division to lunch. I was impressed with her. Hopefully, we'll get pinpoint assignments soon. The pinpoint assignment is the specific battalion I'll be serving in.

Hahaha, Strawberry Shortcake! Sounds like something you'd be behind. The whole experience of Phase 1 can't be too bad with such crazy people. What's it like being S1 this week? -- Love, Em
Actually, I'm not behind Strawberry Shortcake. I'm not S1 yet. I don't know for sure that I will be, but I do know that was the platoon leader's recommendation. I'll probably take that over next week.
I agree with you Emily about Justin being one of the ones behind the cookie. I guess we have to believe him.hahahaha
What is S1?

By the way I to would like to know what S1 means. Hope you folks enjoyed to cake regardless who was behind it.

S1 is a staff position. All this means is that I am the first step in the chain of command for personnel or administrative issues. At CHBOLC, this really is not a big deal. It was a position of responsibility for the first couple of weeks we were here b/c everyone was dealing with getting pay, insurance, etc. started. Now its a relatively benign position.
Sounds like you having loads of fun in school. also have fun w/ your knew position if you get the s1. the strawberry shortcake deals sounds like you.

I enjoyed getting your mail this week at camp Autie Em sent me a couple of cards and a sonogram picture of Isaac. Now I have two!!! I miss you a whole lot! Also Dad told me that I was the only family member who wrote you letters, that make me feel special. I hope you have a good rest of the week. I know I will because I just got back from camp.
